Organisational Structure

The proposed organisational model for LIVING LAB exists of an international and a national level. Both levels consist of a steering committee, coordination office and an advisory board.

A central International Coordination Office (ICO) is responsible for coordination the LIVING LAB activities across various locations.
Each national LIVING LAB is connected to local universities, research institutes, companies and governments.

Physical Infrastructure

The Living Lab houses have an extremely flexible, modular design. Each house has the same basic layout and offers the same basic functionalities. At the same time, the houses are flexible enough to be adapted to local culture, climate and research interests.

The network of Living Lab houses is the physical part of the Living Lab research infrastructure. This network will give us unique research opportunities (for instance cross-cultural). Also, it will make the Living Lab initiative tangible and concrete.
The Living Lab houses will be managed and administered by partners in the Living Lab consortium (preferably by knowledge institutes, as these provide ‘neutral ground’). The Living Lab consortium will grow as we expand our network.
